2.21. Thermostat of the air filter (carburetor engines)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The thermostat provides supply of the warmed-up air in the air filter at various temperature of the engine.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Operation of the thermostat is checked visually by means of a mirror.
2. Find the thermostat gate.
	3. On some cars disconnect an air duct of cold air from a filter bell in the direction specified by an arrow (1). The gate (2) has to be visible through a bell.
4. At warming up of the engine the gate has to block gradually a bell of the filter which the hose from a final collector and a prestarting heater joins.
	5. After warming up of the engine the gate (1) has to open completely the channel of cold air (see subsection 6.5).
