Units of system of a charge on cars after 1993.

1. Main fusible crossing point FL 2,0L
2. Safety lock of IGN 7,5 A
3. Safety lock of Charge 7,5 A
4. Safety lock of AM1 (50 A)
5. Safety lock of AM1 FL 1,25 B
6. Generator
7. AM2 0,3P safety lock

The scheme for check of current of a charge of the battery

1. Disconnect a wire from a conclusion In
2. Ampermeter
3. Generator
4. Voltmeter
5. Battery

1. At malfunction of a chain of a charge of the battery the conclusion about failure of the generator should be drawn only after the following checks.
2. Check a state and a tension of a belt of the generator. At detection of signs of wear replace a belt.
3. Check an inhaling of bolts of the generator.
4. Check conducting of the generator and regulator of tension, reliability of fastening and a condition of sockets.
5. Check fusible crossing points and safety locks. At detection of burn-out find out the reason and eliminate.
6. Start the engine and check the sound made by the generator (howling or squealing a sound points out wear of bearings).
7. Check electrolyte density in the battery. If density low, charge the battery (this point does not belong to unattended batteries).
8. Check completeness of a charge of the battery (at faulty section of the battery its recharge is possible).
9. Disconnect cables from the battery and clear.
10. Check operation of the relay of a control lamp (on cars from 1980 to 1992 the arrangement of the relay differs, see rice. Installation of the relay of electric equipment of the FJ60 cars, rice. Installation of the relay of electric equipment of the FJ80 cars).
11. Check tension on the battery on the idle engine. Tension has to be about 12 Century.
12. Start the engine and again check tension which has to be from 13,5 to 15,1 Century now.
13. Turn on driving beam of headlights. During the normal work of system of a charge tension has to fall and again increase.
14. If tension is higher than normal, replace tension regulator (see subsection 3.4.11).
15. If tension is lower normal, then check the regulator and the generator, having arrived as follows.
16. Connect to weight a conclusion F (1) on a back cover, start the engine, consider tension on the battery and compare to standard.
17. If tension is higher standard, then replace tension regulator.
18. If tension is lower standard, then check the generator (or in the absence of the ampermeter hand over in a workshop of car service).
19. If there is an ampermeter, then turn on it in the scheme of charging (see rice. The scheme for check of current of a charge of the battery). In the absence of the ampermeter it is possible to use the current transformer.
20. Bring engine turns to 2000 rpm, measure current at the switched-off consumers. Then turn on driving beam of headlights and the fan of a heater (the switch establish in position of HI). Measure current and compare to the values given in subsection 3.4.1.

21. If the measured current is less standard, then repair or replace the generator.
