Details of the main cylinder of brakes with a big tank

The main cylinder of brakes is mounted in a motor compartment on the vacuum amplifier.


1. Remove with the syringe from a tank a part of liquid.
2. Substitute the pallet under the cylinder or spread rags.
3. Release the union of tubes on the main cylinder.
4. Disconnect and muffle tubes.
5. Disconnect the socket (if it is provided) from a tank, turn off 2 nuts of fastening of the cylinder to the vacuum amplifier and remove the cylinder.


On cars cylinders with a big or small tank are installed, procedures of dismantling assembly of these units almost differ in nothing, except for reservations.

Before dismantling get ремкомплект the cylinder.

1. On the cylinder with a small tank turn off a bolt of fastening of a tank.
2. Weaken collars of a tank (A) and the union (V) and remove a tank.
3. On the cylinder with a big tank unscrew the screw and remove a tank.
4. Check a condition of laying.
5. Clamp the cylinder in a vice, wring out pistons and turn off a lock bolt. Replace laying of a bolt.
6. Again wring out pistons and remove a lock ring.
7. Disassemble the cylinder, having paid attention much installation of details.
8. Get primary piston.
9. Having knocked about whetstone, get the secondary piston, without allowing a distortion, otherwise the cylinder will be scratched.
10. Pay special attention to springs which for different pistons differ.
11. Check a condition of the cylinder.
12. At detection of scratches or the painted sites replace the cylinder. It is forbidden to Honningovat the cylinder.
13. Replace all details, having established new of a remkomplekt in a former order. Before assembly dip details into brake fluid.
14. Collect pistons, enter into the cylinder, wring out and wrap a lock bolt.
15. Establish a lock new ring, having tracked that the ring entered a flute.
16. Establish laying of a tank and a tank.
17. At installation fill the cylinder with liquid.
18. Clamp the cylinder in a vice for a flange, fill in liquid in a tank, wrap caps and press the piston the big cross screw-driver.
19. Turn off a cap that there was an air.
20. Wrap a cap and release the piston.
21. Repeat these actions until the opening under the union does not begin to come out liquid. All the time support liquid level in a tank.
22. Repeat actions for removal of air for other opening.
23. Instead of a cap it is possible to close an opening a finger.
24. Release a finger after pressing pistons, after an effluence of liquid close an opening a finger and release pistons.
25. Several seconds later press the piston again and take away a finger.
26. Repeat the procedure and perform the same operations on other opening.
27. After only liquid begins to follow from openings, wrap caps.


1. Install the cylinder into place and wrap nuts by hand.
2. Screw the union without distortions, manipulating the cylinder.
3. Tighten a nut and the union.
4. Add liquid in a tank before the top division and wrap a stopper.
5. Air can be removed from the cylinder also on the car, working together. For this purpose ask the assistant to press a pedal and to hold.
6. Unscrew the union and let out the air.
7. Wrap the union and ask the assistant to release a pedal.
8. Continue until liquid begins to follow from the cylinder.
