3.3.5. Removal and installation of the engine


1. Execute a decompression of fuel system and disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Remove the air filter.
3. Merge cooling liquid.
4. Designate and disconnect all sockets of conducting, vacuum and fuel hoses from the engine. Reliably muffle the disconnected hoses.
5. Designate and disconnect cooling system hoses from the engine.
6. Remove a radiator, the fan with a casing and all belts of the drive.
7. Disconnect on the engine cables of a butterfly valve and a cruise control (if it is provided, see subsection 5.1.7).
8. On the cars equipped with the hydraulic booster turn off bolts of the pump of the hydraulic booster (see subsection 9.12). Take the pump aside and fix by a wire, without disconnecting hoses. Not to overturn the pump.
9. On the cars equipped with the conditioner turn off bolts of fastening and take the compressor aside. Not to disconnect hoses.
10. Merge oil from the engine.
11. Remove a starter and the generator.
12. (Would) disconnect an exhaust pipe from the engine.
13. On the cars equipped with automatic transmission turn off bolts of fastening of the hydrotransformer to a drive plate (see subsection 7.2.1).
14. Substitute under prop transmission, having laid a board.
15. Attach таль the elevator to hooks on the engine, choose a waist weak point.
16. Turn off bolts of fastening of transmission to the engine.
17. Turn off bolts of fastening of support of the engine to a frame.
18. Make sure that all details connecting the engine to a body or transmission are removed. Designate all remained details and remove.
19. Carefully raise the engine and separate from transmission. Fix the hydrotransformer on automatic transmission. On the manual transmission bring a main shaft of the check point out of coupling.
20. Carefully raise the engine from a motor compartment, watching to hooking on wires or hoses.
21. Remove a flywheel (or a drive plate of the hydrotransformer) and install the engine on the stand.


1. Check a condition of support of the engine. At detection of damages or wear tracks of a support replace.
2. On cars from the manual transmission check a condition of coupling, coupling is recommended to be replaced.
3. Carefully lower the engine in a motor compartment, having tracked that support became in the place.
4. On cars with automatic transmission, perform the works described in subsection 7.2.8.
5. On cars from the manual transmission slightly grease vents of a main shaft and enter a shaft into a frictional disk and the directing bearing so that the case of the check point adjoined to the block of cylinders on all perimeter.
6. Tighten bolts of fastening of transmission with the set moment.
7. Further assembly is carried out upside-down.
8. Fill the engine with liquid and oil, restore the level of oil (liquid) in transmission and in the hydraulic booster.
9. Start the engine, check operation of the engine and be convinced of lack of leaks. Carry out tests in road conditions.
