7.2.8. Removal and installation of transmission

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Weaken fan casing boats.
3. Disconnect a cable of the gate and involve a cable towards transmission.
4. Remove the handle and a cover of the lever of the transfer case.
5. Lift the car and establish on supports.
6. Remove the lower guard and merge transmission liquid from transmission and oil from the transfer case.
7. Remove driveshafts (cm. subsection 7.4.3.2).
8. Remove a forward exhaust pipe.
9. Disconnect a filling branch pipe and tubes of a cooler of liquid from a transmission case.
10. On cars till 1992 disconnect a speedometer cable.
11. Disconnect sockets and vacuum hoses from transmission.
	12. Disconnect drafts from transmission (A) and the transfer case (B).
13. Remove a starter.
	14. Uncover the hydrotransformer. Designate position of the hydrotransformer on a drive plate.
	15. Turn off serially bolts, turning the crankshaft.
16. You will hang out the engine and transmission jacks and turn off bolts of fastening of transmission to a cross-piece.
17. Slightly raise transmission and turn off bolts and nuts of fastening of a cross-piece to a frame and remove a cross-piece.

18. Turn off bolts of fastening of transmission to the engine with left (a photo at the left) and with right (a photo on the right) (are specified by shooters).
19. Displace transmission back and remove from the directing pins. Fix the hydrotransformer on transmission. Lower transmission and get from under the car.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure that the hydrotransformer is in gearing with the pump and a main shaft. For this purpose press the hydrotransformer towards transmission, at the same time turning.

2. The correct landing of the hydrotransformer is followed by characteristic ringing knock.

3. Further assembly is carried out upside-down.

4. Combine the tags on the hydrotransformer put when dismantling, attach all sockets and hoses.

5. Adjust drafts.
