5.1.9. Service of the exhaust system

GENERAL INFORMATION

The exhaust system consists of a final collector (or 2 collectors), catalytic converter, the muffler, the connecting pipes and details of a suspension bracket (arms, collars, pillows). The exhaust system fastens to a body through arms and rubber pillows. At failure of any of system details operation of the engine is followed by the increased noise.

The damaged details are not subject to repair, they should be replaced.

For removal of the damaged details of the exhaust system it is necessary to use autogenous cutting, it is independently possible to saw off a hacksaw. Before assembly grease all carvings with structure against a holding strap. At assembly of details of the exhaust system track correctness of installation of converter and all thermal guards. Provide a necessary gleam between exhaust pipes and a body floor.
