5.2.6. Fuel level sensor

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before check of the fuel level sensor completely fill a tank with gasoline.
2. On cars of 1988-90 find the socket which is near a tank, on cars since 1991 of release remove a back seat and a cover of the hatch.
3. Disconnect the socket of the fuel level sensor.
4. Measure sensor resistance between conclusions.
5. At completely filled tank resistance has to be 17 Ohms (1988-90) or 3 Ohms on cars since 1991.
6. At an empty tank resistance has to be 120 Ohms (1988-90) or 110 Ohms on cars since 1991.
7. Replace the sensor if resistance differs from specified.
8. The sensor can also be checked, having removed it from a tank. Measure resistance at completely lowered float (a tank empty) and in the extreme top provision of a float (a full tank).
