5.2.3.2. Main relay of injection and relay of the fuel pump

GENERAL INFORMATION

Check of the main relay (1988-89)

1, 2, 3, 4. Contacts

Check of the main relay (after 1990)

1, 2, 3, 4. Contacts

Check

Check of the relay of the fuel pump

1. Relay of the fuel pump

2. Kneeboard

3. Sidewall

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The electric chain of fuel system switched on two relays. At first check presence of tension from the battery on the main relay, and then for the relay of the fuel pump.
2. Disconnect the main relay from the socket, then include ignition (the engine do not start) and check presence of tension from the battery.
3. If tension from the battery is, then put the main relay into place and check presence of tension from the battery for the relay of the fuel pump. The relay is on a mudguard of a wheel niche from the driver.
4. If tension from the battery is present on both relays, then check relays.

MAIN RELAY

Check of the main relay with a zapityvaniye of contacts (1988-89)

1, 2, 3, 4. Contacts

1. Ohmmeter

Check of the main relay with a zapityvaniye of contacts (after 1990)

1. Ohmmeter

2. Battery

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. An ohmmeter check integrity of a chain between contacts 1 and 3 (see rice. Check of the main relay with a zapityvaniye of contacts (1988-89). Between contacts the 2 and 4 ohmmeter has to show a gap.
2. On conclusions 1 and 3 give tension from the battery.
3. Between conclusions 2 and 4 there has to be a closed chain.
4. If results of tests differ, then replace the relay.

TURNING ON OF THE FUEL PUMP
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. An ohmmeter (1) check integrity of a chain (2) between conclusions + B1 and FPR and + B2 and FP.
2. Between contacts + the ohmmeter has to show to B and PR a gap.
3. On conclusions + give to B1 and FPR tension from the battery.
4. Now between conclusions + B and FP has to be the closed chain. If results of tests differ, then replace the relay.

RELAY of TURNING ON of the FUEL PUMP (1996)

Check of the relay of the fuel pump with a coil zapityvaniye

1. Ohmmeter

2. The closed chain

3. Battery

Check of the relay of the fuel pump (1996)

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Contacts

1. The opened chain

2. The closed chain

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Between conclusions 3 and 5 there has to be a closed chain (see rice. Check of the relay of the fuel pump (1996)).
2. Between conclusions the 3 and 5 ohmmeter has to show resistance of 80 Ohms.
3. On conclusions 1 and 5 give tension from the battery.
4. Between conclusions 1 and 2 there has to be tension from the battery, and between conclusions 3 and 5 there has to be a closed chain.
5. If results of tests differ, then replace the relay.

RELAY of the CHAIN of the FUEL PUMP (1988-94)

Check of the relay of a chain of the fuel pump with a zapityvaniye of the coil (1988-94)

1. Ohmmeter

2. The closed chain

3. Battery

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check existence of a chain between contacts of ST and E1 (see rice. Check of the relay of a chain of the fuel pump with a zapityvaniye of the coil (1988-94), and also between conclusions + B and FC.
2. Between conclusions + the ohmmeter has to show to B and FP a gap.
3. On conclusions of ST and E1 give tension from the battery.
4. Between conclusions + B and FP has to be the closed chain. If results of tests differ, then replace the relay.

RELAY of the CHAIN of the FUEL PUMP (1995)

The procedure for test is similar to check of the main relay (see above).

PUMP RESISTOR RESISTANCE

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Resistance of the resistor of the pump has to be 0,73 Ohms at a normal temperature.
2. Otherwise replace the resistor.
