Check

FUEL PUMP

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Include ignition (not to start the engine).
2. Connect a crossing point conclusions of B+ and FP on the diagnostic socket.

Prevention

On all cars of 1988-1994 the diagnostic socket differs. Be guided by the distributing of the socket specified on the plate which is strengthened under the socket.

3. On cars of 1995 of release giving of food on the fuel pump via the diagnostic socket is not provided. On these cars for reading of pressure of fuel it is necessary to start the engine.
4. After a peremykaniye of the specified conclusions to the fuel pump tension moves. In the place under a back seat operation of the pump has to be listened, and on a hose from the fuel filter fuel pressure has to be felt.
5. Disconnect a crossing point. Install a cap on the diagnostic socket.
6. Switch off ignition.
7. If the pump does not work, then check a safety lock of the main relay of system of injection (EFI relay) on 15 A.
8. Check a fusible insert of the ignition key on 30 A (AM2 insert, see subsection 11.3).
9. Check the main relay of system of injection (EFI relay) and the relay of the fuel pump.
10. Check presence of tension on fuel the pump.
11. Check conducting and sockets.
12. Cars after 1993 it is equipped in addition with the relay of turning on of the fuel pump on which it is also necessary to check tension.

FUEL PRESSURE

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Implementation of the procedure described below requires the manometer on pressure not less than 3 kgfs/cm2. The tip of a hose has to have a design like "banjo", i.e. be condensed with a bolt with the internal through channel
2. In the absence of the special manometer, get the ready "banjo" union, with an internal diameter of 12 mm which the hose with a collar from your manometer approaches.
3. In the absence of the ready union it can be made of a bolt with a carving of M12x1,25 of mm. Grind off a head of a bolt and drill two openings – one through on the center of a bolt, and another – on the center across a bolt, crossed with a longitudinal opening. Screw a nut and a lock-nut, having condensed a carving with a teflon tape.
4. Turn off a stopper of a jellied mouth of a tank.
5. Make sure that tension on the battery is not lower than 12 Century.
6. Execute a decompression of fuel system.
7. In the presence on the adapter manometer, turn off a bolt on the distributor and screw an adapter.
8. Screw the adapter made independently, a rka it is shown on a photo.
9. Connect the manometer in the following order:

  – in the presence the "regular" manometer connect it to the special adapter established on the fuel distributor;
  – surely establish new laying on both parties of an adapter;
  – screw independently made adapter in the fuel filter, tighten a lock-nut;
  – attach a hose of the manometer and fix by a collar.
10. Wipe the gasoline spilled from the distributor of fuel or from the filter.
11. Put the lever of the selector of automatic transmission in position Park, or the gear shifting lever in neutral situation.
12. On all cars of 1988-1994 connect накоротко conclusions of B+ and FP on the diagnostic socket by means of a special crossing point.

Prevention

On cars of 1995 giving of food on the fuel pump via the diagnostic socket is not provided. On these cars for reading of pressure of fuel it is necessary to start the engine.

13. Include ignition (not to start the engine). Consider the indication of pressure and compare it to standard.
14. If pressure increased, then check the return fuel pipe. If gasoline passes through a fuel pipe, then replace the fuel pressure regulator.
15. If pressure lowered, then press the return fuel pipe. If pressure increases, then replace the fuel pressure regulator. If pressure does not increase, then check the highway of supply of fuel, the fuel pump and the fuel filter.
16. Remove a crossing point from the diagnostic socket, or from the socket of the fuel pump.
17. Start the engine.
18. Check fuel pressure idling, compare result to standard.
19. If pressure differs from standard, then check a vacuum hose and the regulator of pressure of fuel.
20. Stop the engine and be convinced that pressure of fuel remains at the level of 1,3 kgfs/cm2 within 5 minutes after a stop. If pressure falls down quicker, then can be the cause leak in the fuel pump, the regulator of pressure or in a nozzle.
