4.12. Air conditioning system and heating

GENERAL INFORMATION

Main units of air conditioning system

Prevention

The highway of air conditioning system is under high pressure. Before full removal of coolant it is forbidden to disconnect any hoses and to remove air conditioning system units. Removal of coolant has to be carried out in car service.


Check and leaving

Care of the conditioner comes down to performance of the following procedures:

  – check of a state and tension of a compressor belt;
  – check of a condition of hoses and tubes (on to disunite the highway!);
  – cleaning of intercostal spaces of the condenser;
  – check of filling of system with coolant.

The conditioner should be turned on monthly approximately for 10 min.

Insufficient gas station of coolant is the most common cause of unsatisfactory operation of the conditioner. If noticeable temperature increase of air from the conditioner is observed, then check completeness of gas station of coolant.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the engine.
2. Transfer temperature regulator rychazhok to the situation corresponding to the lowest temperature, establish the highest speed of the fan.
3. Open doors.
4. Check turning on of the compressor at which the click of the electromagnetic coupling sounds, and the central part of the coupling begins to rotate.
5. After the system comes to an operating mode, compare temperature of two tubes of the compressor.
6. If temperature of tubes наощупь differs poorly, then filling with coolant is necessary.
7. On the working conditioner bring the thermometer to the central part of the canal of an air outlet. Air temperature at the exit from the channel has to be 17-20 °C lower than ambient temperature.
8. If air temperature very high, for example 45 °C, then air temperature at the exit from the conditioner can reach 15 °C.
9. If temperature of the cooled air is higher than standard, then refueling of the conditioner coolant is necessary.
10. Further checks of the conditioner are beyond this manual and have to be carried out by the prepared personnel.
11. Check a condition of coolant through viewing glass (it is specified by an arrow). Viewing glass is built in to the highway from a shlagootdelitel on series 80 cars, on cars of a series 60, 62 the window is located on a moisture separator.
12. If at the working conditioner in glass foaming is observed, then the amount of coolant is not enough.
13. Keep in mind that at high temperature of the environment in viewing glass bubbles, even can be observed during normal filling of coolant.
14. When the conditioner is switched off and the amount of coolant is normal, in viewing glass small foaming which disappears subsequently is also observed.

HEATER

If heating of air in a heater is absent, then the following can be the reasons.

  – the thermostat is not closed therefore liquid is warmed insufficiently and badly warms up a heater radiator. Replace the thermostat (see subsection 4.3);
  – the heater hose is littered that interferes with a liquid stream through a radiator. Disconnect hoses and wash out a radiator a water stream from a hose;
  – if when washing water does not pass through a heater radiator, then the radiator is littered and is subject to replacement.

If the air stream from ventilating snuffled does not correspond to the established speed of rotation of the fan, then check safety locks, conducting, the switch, the resistor of the electric motor and the electric motor.

If from exhaust outlets of air ducts air does not arrive, then arrive as follows.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn the ignition key in position of ON and turn on the fan. Noise of the working electric motor has to be listened.
2. If the rumble of the electric motor is not listened or if check shows that the switch and the block of resistors are serviceable, then malfunction of the electric motor can be the cause.
3. If the rug is moistened, or through air vents vapors of cooling liquid get, then in a radiator of a heater there is a leak.
4. Replace a radiator (to repair is not subject).
5. Check purity of a drain hose of a moisture separator.
