2.5.1. Oil level in the engine

GENERAL INFORMATION

Oil indicator probe (engines 2F and 3F-E)

The probe of an oil indicator (1) on engines 2F and 3F-E is located on the right side.

Oil indicator probe (engines 1ZF-FE)

The oil indicator probe (it is specified by an arrow) on engines 1ZF-FE is located on the left side.

Check of level of oil – an important preventive measure of operations of maintenance. If oil level constantly goes down, then are the reason an oil leak through the damaged epiploon, the weakened connections, or through piston rings or the directing plugs of valves. If oil gets a dairy shade or in oil water drops are observed, then tightness of laying of a head of cylinders is broken. All this indicates the need of immediate check of the engine. It is necessary to check a condition of oil also regularly. Every time during check of level of oil before wiping the probe, clamp the probe two fingers and carry out on it up. If it is visible that between fingers and the probe the remains of dirt or small metal particles get stuck, then oil needs to be replaced.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check oil level the probe which is inserted into a branch pipe of the oil pallet of the engine.
2. Check oil level on the cold idle engine, or about 15 minutes later from the moment of its stop. If to make check of level of oil right after a trip, then some part of oil will remain in the top part of the engine and results of check will be wrong.
3. Get the control probe from a tube and wipe it a pure rag or a tissue. Insert the pure probe back into a tube and again get. Check level on an oil film.
4. Level of oil has to there are between risks L and F control probes. Otherwise add oil (the amount of oil corresponding to change of level from a mark L to a mark F makes about 1 l).
5. If the level of oil is above a mark F, it will lead to oiling of candles, oil leak, or to failure of an epiploon.
6. To add oil, turn out a mouth stopper (it is specified by an insole) on a cover of a head of cylinders.
